ABOUT SOUL OF EARTH

We’re just a collective of spirits inspired by soul and a desire to make a brand of music that inspires others. We’re the group that’s not concerned about all the standards of the “old” commercial music business, loves to party and makes the freshest brand of new millenium expression-based soul music that you can dance to. “Electromagnetic”, the first album of The Black Love Trilogy, is an album of songs produced by Jason Orr (FunkJazz Kafé®) and Craig Love (Producer – Lil Jon, Outkast, Usher, TLC, Ciara) with other musical geniuses and lovers of soulful expressions like Omar, Caron Wheeler (Soul II Soul), Dionne Farris, N’Dea Davenport (Brand New Heavies), Carl McIntosh (Loose Ends), Vinnie Bernard (FunkJazz Kafé), Lady Alma (4Hero, Sylk130), Wes Felton (aka W. Ellington Felton), DJ Kemit (FunkJazz Kafé, Spreadlove), Lil John Roberts (FunkJazz Kafé, Janet Jackson, etc.), LeRonde Williams (FunkJazz Kafé), Alex Lattimore and CC Sunchild (FunkJazz Kafé). We all have love and admiration for each other so we might as well make music together. This is the “now” and the “future”. If you’re into funk, dance music, global soul and higher frequencies, you’ll love this music.
Electric, exotic, funky, abstract, visual, sexy, upbeat, inspiring and fresh. Quincy Jones meets Daft Punk- meets- Earth Wind & Fire- meets- Lil Louis – meets- Brand New Heavies – meets -Blue Six -meets-Isley Bros.-meets- Mr. Fingers-meets- Heatwave. Kind of a vibed-out, ancient future funk party. Global dance music with a message. We feel that dance music is the current global communication.

We feel fortunate to work with each other on this collection of music and this series of three releases is the result of our excitement to make a classic collection of new vibrations and frequencies to dance to.

Our initial music project was called “ElectromagneticUniverSouLoversAscension” and was one disc entitled to describe this collection of music. It’s a combination of all genres of music that had some funk it or funk could be applied to it. Electric, exotic, funky, abstract, visual, sexy, upbeat, inspiring and fresh.

And as we thought about it, the long CD title seemed to describe this collection of music and also our desired energies as a collective of spirits inspired by soul and should be broken down in three parts for our stories of Black love to be best understood. The music can sometimes help identify problems in our our relationships as well as offer solutions.

We feel fortunate to work with each other on this collection of music and this series of three releases is the result of our excitement to make a classic collection of new vibrations and frequencies to dance to.

Soul Of Earth’s core is:

Craig Love, on half of Soul Of Earth, is quietly content being known as a veteran producer of hit records, who happens to be credited with producing the biggest records for the most recognized artist of the new millennium. Having made fans from every age bracket and ethnic background, his work is part of the public record. With a catalog of some of the most infamous hit records to be released in the past decade, his reputation now precedes his unassuming presence. Endurance has allowed him to be listed among the most requested and respected musician/producers in the field. He is, after all, one of the few persons that have contributed to so many multi-platinum, internationally known, globally-respected and musically-relevant artist of the last ten years.

You’ve heard “Goodies” by Ciara. You’ve also heard “Salt Shaker” by the Ying Yang Twins, ”Damn” by the Youngbloodz, ”Freak-A-Leek” by Petey Pablo,”Red Light” by Usher, ”Shorty Wanna Ride” by Young Buck formally of the G Unit and “4Ever” by Lil Mo. If U recognize the song titles it is probably because they are all relevant to today’s musical landscape of monstrous crossover urbans hits. These songs were not Hip Hop or R&B ,they were Pop not by design, but by demand. But Craig Love’s personal contributions to urban music’s sonic takeover goes further in the past than the last decade.

When Organized Noize started the musical movement in Atlanta, Craig Love was present in the studio. Counting Ray Murray, one third of the original production trio, as the person who made him believe that a career in production was profitable as well as it was possible, Craig can go back to 1985 and his days at B.E. Mays High School to find lineage to southern music pioneers. It was Murray that taught him how an MPC60 worked. Dallas Austin provided inspiration as a local hero while breaking ground as a cultivator of young talent in and around Atlanta. ”We used to do music at our homey William’s house before they had sequencers, Dallas on keyboards and me on lead guitar, that was in like 1984 or 1985,we go way back!”. Then in 1992, Craig became Lil Jon’s writing partner, at a time when everyone made music for the love of the craft. Although it would be years before the two would collaborate for their biggest hit records,Craig gained prominence by cutting his teeth with classic tracks such as “Beautiful Skin” by Goodie Mob along with ”Ain’t No Thang”, ”Crumbling Erb”, ”Aquemini” and “Get Up Git Out” by OutKast. Relationships that developed from projects such as these continue today, proving that Craig Love knows the meaning of loyalty and cooperation.

Plenty of popular artist could be added to this biography for star power and celebrity recognition. Yet it would be somewhat unfair to validate his talent with other names, because Craig Love has contributed enough to the current reign of Atlanta on the music industry sales charts to be recognized on his own. He continues to make music with friends he met during his entry into the business especially the King Of Crunk, Bryan Cox, and Jason Orr to name a few. ”All of these friends look at me like a partner in an investment, they value my opinion and musical taste in the decision making process and that’s beautiful! They want to see me enjoy the success alongside themselves, and I consider myself blessed and humbled to be included!” he says. ”But you’ve got to be made for this game to get to that point. ”You can’t be petty and impatient and make it in the music industry” he says.
